php - Magento admin panel redirecting to a 404 after login -


i installed newest patch magento site (v1.7.0.2) custom extension called geoip mageworx.

after installing above , clearing cache/sessions, going log site presents me admin login screen usual, after log in correctly page 404s. url showing correct back-end url, actual page complete 404. no admin panel, no errors.

i've checked error logs no avail, i've cleared cache , sessions multiple times, i've uninstalled extension tracing files put , deleted them, reverted patch installation, cleared cache , sessions again, , i'm still not able site.

it's multi-store it's worth, , information or getting pointed in correct direction appreciated.

i having same issue (magento ce 1.9.2) - , me solution question of setting admin startup page ( in system - configuration - advanced - admin - startup page )

the list of pages select in current admin language - if default language different, you'll (usually) 404

... in other words, make sure in default language when change setting, , change setting if change default language

(for info, admin language set in general - locale options, scope of "default config". if want front-end have different language, override same setting scope of "main website")
