windows - Does Aptana Studio 3.6.1 really need Node.js? Why? -

the interactive install aptana studio 3.6.1 insists on downloading , installing (a out of date version of) node.js.

however, if passive installation, doesn't bother - , aptana studio seems work anyway. similarly, if interactive installation , uninstall node.js, aptana studio keeps running, or @ least fails collapse in immediate screaming heap.

i don't see connection between aptana studio , node.js begin with. necessary? if so, why?

context:

i'm installing aptana studio in teaching lab @ university. while installing node.js first isn't problem per se, mean additional piece of software keep track of, , interdependencies between software products can pain - e.g., if aptana studio no longer needed, mean can remove node.js, or has started using other purposes , forgotten warn me? plus, node.js weird things, e.g., adding folder doesn't exist user's path.

in short, if can reasonably sure leaving out won't break important, preferable so.

having run aptana studio 3.6.1 without node.js full semester no (new) problems reported, conclude aptana studio not need node.js.
