Add Google search field to website that searches in the address bar -


i have created page use 'homepage' when opening new tab in chrome, rather default chrome 'new tab page'. have used extension 'new tab redirect' display page when open new tab.

i'd add google search field page that, when user starts typing, transfers browser address bar (like google on chrome) - allow either google search or enter url.

i have looked around solution haven't had luck. ideas how achieved?
