Android Emulator Does not Launch -
i struggling emulator launch after trying on 2 weeks. can use issue or tips on troubleshooting same.
i have been able launch emulator on home machine using similar config. fails when connect work pc, believe there configuration may stopping this, have no clue configuration , don't see error in logs can me identify issue. general problem colleagues well, it's policy or registry setting has been set on our workstations.
if can me identify config stopping launch of emulator can work team make required changes.
my config is
- android studio 1.2.1.1
- sdk/avd manager v 24.3.3
- windows 7 x64
- 16 gb ram
- dell e6540 laptop | dell optiplex 780 desktop
- haxm installed
- cpu options tried: intel x86/x86_x64 & arm v7a
- ram options tried: 768mb,1gb , 2gb
- host gpu: tried both on , off
- virtualization enabled in bios
the virtual device gets created fine, never launches successfully. never see window open, have waited more 2 hours @ several occasions.

have installed haxm?
i encounter same issue before, before learning haxm not yet enabled after downloading in android sdk manager. 
you need steps follow best experience out of android* emulator using intel haxm driver.
prerequisites
intel haxm requires android* sdk installed (version 17 or higher). more information, refer android* developer website (http://developer.android.com/sdk/).
system requirements hardware requirements: intel® processor support intel® vt-x, intel® em64t (intel® 64), , execute disable (xd) bit functionality @ least 1 gb of available ram supported operating systems: microsoft windows* 8 , 8.1 (32/64-bit) microsoft windows* 7 (32/64-bit) microsoft windows vista* (32/64-bit) important: intel haxm cannot used on systems without intel processor, or intel processor lacks hardware features described in "hardware requirements" section above. determine capabilities of intel processor, visit http://ark.intel.com/ additionally, intel haxm can used android* x86 emulator images provided intel. intel haxm cannot used arm* android* emulator images or non-intel x86 android* emulator images. - under main sdk directory. though sdk manager says "installed" means intel haxm executable downloaded. still need run installer "extras" directory installed.
2.extract installer inside "extras" directory , follow installation instructions platform.
